First- I want to thank you all for saying nice things about me. You really are too good for my ego. My family thanks you for giving me a big head and making me think I rock and am nothing but awesomeness! I did notice that not many of my real life friends commented though- must be that when there is a computer between us I am much more friendly and full of awesomeness as opposed to when you are forced to deal with me in the flesh (saggy, stretched out, droopy flesh that is!). That must be when those obnoxious tendencies come out ;)
Anywho--moving on to today's awesomeness. I know, I know- you feel like you win the lottery every time you stop by here! How was your day all? Ya know if I am asking- it is because I have some stories to tell you.
I have this student- he has recently been caught developed a habit of stealing. Books from my class library, pencil sharpeners that belong to other kids...nothing major like my wallet or cell phone- but enough already. I have taken everything from him and he has to get books from me at reading time and return the books to me at the end of reading time. Guess what?? He is still finding ways to steal! If I am with him and on him- then one of the other kids get into trouble. So when I deal with that- he gets into trouble. I feel like I am that little ball in the Atari game- break out- just ping ponging around from one issue to another.
I didn't bring any work home tonight (yeah, I know- shocker that a teacher's life isn't all shiny apples and stickers with summers "off"). I needed a break. Good thing too because it seems my son had other plans for my evening.
I picked the kids up from the sitter- he wasn't in the same outfit I took him in that morning. He threw up spit up all over his pants. So....I did the kids laundry because I was going to need to take another spare outfit to his sitter. No big deal. Bath time. Woo hoo bath time. Do you know what is coming?? Oh yeah- you do! Poop in the tub - AGAIN! I would like to tell Riley that next time he feels I haven't cleaned the tub recently enough, that he should just write me a letter email and I will be happy to clean the tub- there is really no need for floating poop to make your point. Oh kiddies- I wish the fun ended there. Riley once again decided that my cleaning skills are not up to par and spit up on the kitchen floor. Then proceeded to put his hands in it and smear it all around- thanks kid!
The positive - the kids' laundry is done, my bath tub is clean, and my kitchen floor is clean. :)

Wow- what a day!
I know I shouldn't say this because I am totally jinxing myself- but Hailey has not pooped in the tub yet. She'll probably do it tomorrow now that I've said that ;)
You are TOO funny. Seriously...I love your sense of humor. :) Although I'm sure you weren't laughing when you first saw that poop floating around in the tub! I've never had to deal with that...YET!! Just wait...now that I said that I'll be having poop in the tub to deal with tomorrow!
I hated the poop-in-the-tub stage. It lasted longer with Malia. Thankfully we are in the clear with that now.
Sorry it's taken me so long to catch up on your blog. I still haven't read about your weekend away. I'm so tired. Ready for bed again at shortly after 9:00.
Oh -- and I haven't read everybody else's comments on the post about sometimes liking you -- but just to clarify...I ALWAYS LIKE YOU!!
xoxo
Ah, the toddler stage, how I miss that-NOT! Sorry for you though. And even though I didn't get around to commenting yesterday, I love ya, and we never even met! So there! Cheer up, tomorrow will be better!
isn't awesomeness such a cool word!?
So have had the poop in the tub--lovely, lovely, lovely. We thought it was just a toot in the water until little J decided he had other "gifts" for us. Nice.
I have thoughts about what you said in regards to who you are when you have a computer between you and everyone else--why we connect so well with our bloggy buddies (sometimes better than with our real life buds and family). We get to be who we want to be--there is no past, no baggage, nothing that clouds who we are when we are dealing with those who just focus on our words--the words that often come directly from our heart--with nothing attached. I think that's a good thing . . .
Oh, and I do not miss having work every single night--lesson plans, grading . . . the day NEVER ended at 3! Ever.
Some days it seems like the fun never ends. But like you said your laundry is done, tub is clean and the floor is clean. A good way to start a Friday.
Gotta love how kids know our stressful days...and then do everything they can to add to them! :)
Love the new look!!!
Ah, floating tub fun. Been there, done that. I agree with you - if my kids didn't make such messes I wouldn't really clean. Of course I wouldn't have anything to clean...
What a day! We haven't had the poop in the tub experience yet, but I'm sure we will!
Hey, we're here for ya! I love the comraderie I've found in the blogosphere. It does me a world of good most days!
Yay! What a day indeed! The poop thing just made me roar...Heheh
HAHA! I remember those days!
Hey Pam - hope you have had a good week. Have a great weekend. See ya. Kellan
Way to see the upside!!!
And you ARE awesome!
I am also a teacher and have had a couple of kids who enjoyed stealing and would then lie to me. A few years ago one of my third graders swore she couldn't eat mint after stealing a tin of mints from my aide. Oc course she told me this with very minty breath. I am returning to work after 5 months of maternity leave on Feb. 28th.
