Keeping Track of it All

One thing I have noticed since having children is how much harder it is to accurately remember everything. My brain just seems fuzzy on lots of things lately. That is okay if I am trying to remember what I ate for dinner or if I missed the occasional shower. But one area I don't want to be fuzzy is on what medicines I give my family. This is not one thing I am willing to take a chance on messing up.

Thankfully it has become easier to keep track of all the medicines you need for your family. This is helpful if you have allergies or asthma and need to keep track of your own medicine, if you are caring for an elderly parent or relative, or if you have children.

If you are like me and love to be organized and don't want to make a mistake with medications, then you need to check out drugs.com.

Drugs.com is the largest and most complete online drug information resource. Drugs.com provides free, accurate and independent advice on more than 24,000 prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines & natural products. If you want to know more about a certain medication, you will find it there. You can search the A to Z drug list, drugs by condition, drug image search, side effects, FDA alerts, and so much more! One thing I love about the site is the up to date safety information about medication. When new safety information comes out almost daily, it is hard to keep up with it on your own. Now you don't have too! Drugs.com will keep you informed and updated.

Drugs.com is a place to easily keep track of all your family's medications in one central place. No more trying to remember or sorting through old papers. Now with a click, you have all that information stored and ready to go when you need it. Drugs.com recently released MedNotes as a free online personalized medication management program. This is used to track your whole family's medication profiles and needs. Each person has their own personal profile where you enter all the medications that family member takes. For added safety, you register to receive drug safety alerts. Along with the up to date safety information, you will get interaction alerts. If some of the medications are going to interact and cause a problem, you will be alerted. I trust my doctors, but we are all human and sometimes things get missed. It is nice to know there is a back up layer in place to keep my family safe! If any new drug and/or specific condition news is released by the FDA or drug companies, MedNotes will notify you with that information as well. This is a great way to keep informed and fully alerted to the important information your family needs to stay healthy and safe.

Take a few minutes and check out Drugs.com and MedNotes. I am sure you will like what you see!

Its great to trust your doctor, but they are human, and God knows they can't remember EVERYTHING. Drug interactions are extremely dangerous.

Thankfully no one in my family needs to take any medications on a regular basis, but I do use the pharmacist to double check interactions when we do have to take more than one of anything for an illness.

I am terrible about remembering anything like "scheduled" medications - heck we can't remember to take vitamins regularly. When I do have to do medications - I use calendar checks. Every day there is a check when a medication is taken - no check - no medicine. It works for us for the short term medications we sometimes need to take.

My son is allergic to several things that my girls are not. I write on the bottle with a red marker, Do NOT give to K-----! in case I am not here and somebody feels the need to give them meds.
My MIL is bad about wanting to just give meds when she thought something was wrong (a LOT) so I had to tell her to stop doing that and always ask me first.
You can never be too careful with your children!
Great site - thanks for the link.

That sounds like a good site. Once I was so out of it, I went to take a med I was supposed to take and took my daughter's instead.
